Practice 10/06/06 - CCCP

Around the half way mark yesterday I got the itch…not that itch. I am currently treating that one with topical cream. I am talking about the itch for riding. I knew just going for a couple hours after work was not going to scratch the itch I had. I felt the need, the need for speed, 4 days of it.

Right away I start looking at my team's calendar to see if Friday and Monday were available. What do you know, only one person scheduled to be off. Boo Yaa! A short phone call later to my team lead and I had a 4 day weekend. 4 days of some sweet ass dirt bike riding.

This morning my ass was out of bed at 6:45 and the truck was packed up no later than 7:05. This is a huge thing for me. Since I have developed a strong dislike of my job I haven't been able to get out of bed no earlier than 7:30. But if dirt bikes are mentioned we (Me and My Ass) can't get up early enough.

After I dropped Alev off at work and made the normal stops for water and energy drinks I got to the track between 8:30-9:00. I geared up and took a few warm up laps around the night track. Just from my putting around I could tell that today was going to be a good day.

After I was warmed up and my muscles were bulging (No my muscles don't really bulge. I just wanted to say bulging and this was probably the only appropriate way I could use the word) things were just…flowing. I don't know how else to describe it. My speed was picking up on each lap, my body had a perfect stance and jumps were just passing underneath my feet. I was even getting good speed coming out of the sand turn. That is a huge success for me. I was able to keep up the good pace even after taking some long breaks.

Around 12 I called Ian and let him know that I was out at the track just in case Tye or himself wanted to join. Not sure why I was doing as I was pretty much done for the day. I also didn't think he would say he would come out because, well he has a broken ankle. Nope! He would be out there in an hour.

When Ian got there I was completely out of energy. But I felt the need to ride anyway. How often is it that I ride with anyone. Broken Ankle or not I couldn't help make sure I was going faster than him. By the end of the day I was dead tired.

I think I may have just screwed up my 4 day riding weekend. I am going to be hurting tomorrow.
