Earlier this week I posted the Kawasaki for sale/trade on craigslist. That same day I received an email from a guy with a 2004 Honda CRF250 . Here is the email:
I have a 2004 Honda CRF250 that my son rides and he might consider a trade. The bike is in very good condition and is a powerful and fast bike. However, the 4 stroke power is much easier to manage than that of a 2 stroke as you know. I will talk to him later on today to see if he might be interested in getting back on a 2 stroke. Our bike has approx. 45-50 hours andruns great. Pro Circuit T4 exhaust and radiator guards and OneIndustries Graphics package. My name is Jon and we are in Southwest Austin.
Thanks
After a few more emails back and forth we decided to meet at the Austin-Del Valle MX Park on November 4. The plan was to get a feel for each other's bikes and make sure we we like the ride.
As soon as I got on the bike and rode it around the parking lot I knew I was going to like it. The power delivery and handling of the bike felt 10 times better than the Kawasaki. After we both drove around the parking lot we jumped on the National track and took about 3 laps. Then we pulled to the side of the track and switched back bikes for comparisons. That only lasted 1 lap. He didn't like how soft his bike felt and I still found it difficult to get the power down to the ground. After I rode the bike all day I knew I was going to see some consistent improvements.
Just to make a long story short, I traded the Kawasaki + $300 for this awesome bike. 4-Strokes > 2-Strokes
